Grocery Store Assistance During COVID-19

The state is offering help to New Mexico seniors. If you are a senior or a disabled adult who cannot access groceries due to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), please all the Aging and Long Term Services Department at 1-800-432-2080. 

Leave a message with your name, telephone number, and the city/town you reside in. Aging and Long Term Services will be in contact with you within 2 hours of your call if not sooner.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and City Operations

Due to increased public health safety measures related to COVID-19, Rio Rancho City Hall and other facilities like the Meadowlark Senior Center are closed to the public until further notice. For information about facility access, please click here.

During this time, City personnel at City Hall will still provide services to citizens electronically or by phone. Other City services, such as emergency services, road repair and maintenance, utilities billing, and Development Services-related will continue to be fully operational.


The mission of the Division of Senior Services is to "promote positive aging." In order to achieve that mission, the Division is tasked with developing the vision for programs and services for the older adult population. The Division is responsible for developing long-range plans; establishing collaborative relationships; obtaining state and federal grants; overseeing volunteer activities; and creating an administrative structure which includes developing policies and procedures and managing statistical information, financial records and databases.


The Division provides the administrative, planning, and policy framework within which the following entities function:
  • Meadowlark Senior Center—Provides recreational, social and education classes and programs, as well as providing opportunities for health and wellness activities for those age 55 and older.
  • Senior Services Advisory Board—Assists the staff of the Division of Senior Services, Meadowlark Senior Center in forming procedures and developing ideas for new and innovative programming.The Board offers suggestions and provides support for ongoing programs, special events, and fundraising activities that benefit the Senior Center.
