Q: Who is the contractor performing the work and how do I contact them?

A: Compass Engineering & Construction Services, LLC. is the contractor performing the work. Contact for the contractor is Shane Meihaus at 505-252-2128.

 Q: What will be reconstructed with the project?

A: Spring Road will undergo a full depth reconstruction from Unser Boulevard to Mesa Road and include replacement of the existing waterline and water services.

 Q: What is the time frame for construction?

A: Construction will begin on June 12, 2023 and will wrap up in January of 2024.

 Q: What days and hours will the contractor work?

A: The contractor’s typical hours of work will be Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm. The contractor may need to work outside of these typical hours and on weekends to complete some activities.

 Q: Will full access be maintained on Spring Road?

A: There will be multiple different traffic control setups during the project. Expect to see detours, one way closures, and intersection closures.

 Q: I access my driveway from Spring Road. Will access to my driveway be maintained during construction?

A: The contractor will minimize disruption to individual driveways but there will be short durations of driveway closures to install waterlines and asphalt pavement. There will also be times when the access is not paved but the contractor is to maintain a smooth transition from the road to the driveway.

 Q: I need to leave my house but construction is blocking my driveway. What can I do?

A: The contractor is to have provisions in place to accommodate a request to provide access in this situation. Let the contractor know you need to exit your driveway and give some additional time for the contractor to make a passable transition from the driveway to the road.

 Q: Will trash pickup continue during construction?

A: Contractor will coordinate with Waste Management and disruption to trash pickup is not anticipated. Trash bins may need to be set on the opposite side of the street then normal depending on which lane is open. The contractor can help move trash bins if you have difficulties moving it to the opposite side of the street.

 Q: Will mail service continue during construction?

A: Contractor will coordinate with United States Postal Service and disruption to mail service will be kept to a minimum.

 Q: Will water service be shut off during construction?

A: There will be disruptions to water service during the installation of the new waterline and water services. These disruptions will occur during non-peak hours (11:00 PM to 4:00 AM or from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM). Those impacted by a planned shut off will be notified via a door hanger specifying the days and times of water service disruption. There is a possibility of an emergency shut off that is not anticipated, in these instances the  contractor will work with City Utilities to repair and restore service as fast as possible.

 Q: My child rides a RRPS bus to/from school. Will bus service still occur during construction?

A: Contractor will coordinate with RRPS and it may require bus stops to be temporarily relocated.
