Interested in opening a Day-Care or Community Residential Care Facility in Rio Rancho?

This list of resources will help you navigate through the Business Registration process, pursuant to the Municipal Code of Ordinances:

Step 1Each Facility must obtain an Administrative/Conditional Use Permit by downloading applicable form:

Step 2 - Each Facility must complete a Business Registration Application Residential Care Facility Business Registration Application

A valid NM State BTIN# (NM Tax ID) is required for ALL businesses.  If you do not already have a #, please obtain from NM Taxation & Revenue Department at: https://tap.state.nm.us/tap/_/ or by calling 505-827-0700.

Once forms are filled out and signed, please return them to the City Clerk’s Office as follows:

A copy of required State or Federal licensure MUST be submitted with completed application.

Step 3 – Review of Applications

Completed applications will be sent to the Development Services Zoning Department (DSD) for zoning designation approval and issuance of a Tracking #. Once approved by DSD, (48-72 hour typical turnaround) our office will return the application to you via email you with instructions on how to pay the application fee.

Once payment has been processed, we will email you a copy of your business registration, and receipt of payment. Originals will be sent in the mail.
